Today, houses like the one above might stick out like a sore thumb. In the near future, that image will be the standard. Well, in California anyway. Beginning in 2020, CA will mandate that almost all newly built homes have solar panels. This state-wide regulation was constituted by the California Energy Commission and is part of a larger initiative to drastically increase renewable energy generation all across the state.
