Happy New Year! Kicking off 2019 with good news coming from the Labor Department’s December jobs report. Non-farm payroll (NFP) employment increased by a staggering 312,000 last month, ending 2018 with a highly positive outlook on the jobs economy. However, with more people entering the workforce, the unemployment rate jumped slightly from 3.7% to 3.9%. Overall, this is a positive way to enter into the new year.
